Award-winning Ghanaian singer-songwriter Jackeline Acheampong better known as Gyakie returns from hiatus with a new single.

Titled ‘Something,’ Gyakie releases her first single of 2022 in grandeur as she makes way for her debut long-length project dropping later in the year.

Prior to the release, Gyakie shared a snippet of the song in a dance video with her as the lead dancer alongside other dancers. The video gained enormous traction on social media, contributing immensely to the song’s buzz.

Gyakie teamed up with Prolific Nigerian music producer P.Priime for the production of the song.

Kofi Pages is one of Ghana’s most talented fast-rising music acts with an exceptional approach to making music. He has gone above and beyond to showcase his musical prowess with his stage craftsmanship, songwriting skills, and also proficiency with live music.

Following the commercial success of his Dopenation-assisted ‘We Nor See No Bro,’ Kofi Pages maintains his trajectory with ‘Boa Me,’ an Afrobeat song featuring multiple award-winning singer-songwriter and rapper, Kofi Kinaata.

The song ‘Boa Me,’ is an inspirational song that can help anyone get through the difficult moments that we all experience at different times in our lives. This beautifully crafted piece of art also serves as a source of inspiration for those who believe all hope is lost.

On the production front as well, credits go to B2 of Dopenation.

Talented Nigerian rapper and songwriter, Ladipoe adds to his impressive catalog, his first official song of 2021 titled ‘Big Energy.’ This comes after his appearance on Mavin Records’ all-star buzzing song titled ‘Overdose‘.

If there’s anything that Ladipoe exudes, it’s definitely ‘big energy,’ and that reflects in the songs he puts out.

‘Big Energy’ was produced by award-winning Nigerian producer E Kelly.

Nigerian Afrobeat artist and businessman, Mr. Eazi brings his hibernation to an end with the arrival of his new song. Mr. Eazi’s new single is entitled ‘Legalize‘, a love ballad that talks about his relentless love for a lady.

Mr. Eazi proposed to his girlfriend Temi Otedola in a short video that both of them shared on their social media timelines not long ago. This is reflected in the song’s topic, in which Mr. Eazi expresses his love for the girl of his dreams.

‘Legalize’ was co-produced by Micheal Burn, Nonso Amadi and E Kelly.

Nigerian music producer and singer, Yung Willis has announced the establishment of his new record company Royal Music Records. The adept beatmaker debuted a new tune called Givin Dem shortly after the label’s inception.

‘Givin Dem,’ produced by Yung Willis, features veteran vocalist Timaya and popular comedic group Kabusa Oriental Choir. The song exemplifies the fantastic work that the young beatmaker has been doing in the music industry.

As a nod to the different emotional and musical phases she navigated to bring the album to life, Moonchild Sanelly’s Phases is a smorgasbord of genres and experiences from an artist who now bills herself as “a global act who so happens to be from South Africa”. There are whimsical tales of love, loss, sexual liberation, and the inevitable emotional metamorphosis that comes as the years have rolled by for the artist.

“One of the many things I’ve been grateful for during lockdown is the ability to sit down and process things,” Moonchild Sanelly tells Apple Music. “I’ve had the time to go through certain experiences and express them in my music. That’s why the album is called Phases. Lockdown allowed me the emotional space to process the different phases I’ve been through and show that in the music.”

The 19-track offering was recorded in the wake of a series of career wins for the “Cute” hitmaker. In 2020, she featured on “With Love to An Ex” by English virtual band Gorillaz and, during the same year, was roped in by Beyoncé on the song “MY POWER” for her Black Is King soundtrack.

The fifth studio album from maverick singer, actor, and rapper Falz opens with thumping bass. It is the sound of “Another Me”, on which he unveils his falsetto as he raps about love, sex and their many interpolations.

The rapper, known for either his socially conscious music or his humorous take on issues, dips his feet into the experimental waters of Nigeria’s nostalgia-driven alté sound. From “All Night” to “Beautiful Sunflower” and “Pull Up”—where he is addicted enough to confess, “You are assassin, but I’m craving your company”—Falz the activist turns Falz, into a full-time sinner.

But it is hard to keep Falz the joker locked in, and that witty side resurfaces in full force on “Woman”, a highlife tune with The Cavemen., as he raps, “She dey do my body justice like magistrate,” while the brothers sing of sexual healing.

After starving his fans for a long time, the music gem serves a one drop record he titles “Atia”. The song is a classic live produced Reggae song for lovers.

Parading himself as a serenader, he swoons an imaginary lover he calls ‘Atia’ in the song, with sweet and catchy melodies. Epixode rides softly with sparsely composed lyrics in popular Ghanaian languages Twi, Ga, with bits of English and Jamaican lingo, Patois — the Twi is more visible in the song — a ploy he used to relate to his immediate audience. The song was finely crafted to make performance quite intimate; coupled with the energy and flair Epixode exudes on stage, this song is poised to be one of his hit singles and timeless records.

Produced by Gomez Beatx, the Reggae song typifies African origins with infused indigenous sounds that highlight it as a record from West Africa, especially Ghana.

Epixode after winning “Reggae/Dancehall Artiste Of The Year” in 2021 at the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards (VGMA) has taken time to rework his sound and fine-tune his craft.

Ghanaian rapper Kweku Smoke maintains the hedonistic and boisterous persona he first unleashed on 2020’s Snoop Forever across his sophomore solo project, the six-track EP Big Shmoke.

On “Lala”, the Krakye Geng frontman trades verses with Asakaa trailblazers Reggie and O’Kenneth, rapping and singing on a bouncy trap beat.

Talented Nigerian singer-songwriter, Bella Alubo comes through with a new single titled ‘Location‘ and it features the Queen of Afro-House music Niniola.
