Obasanjo Has Written His Name In Gold – Sanwo-Olu

Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos State has extolled Former Nigerian President Chief Olusegun Obasanjo for having written his name in gold.

Sanwo-Olu made the remarks while congratulating Obasanjo on his 85th birthday.

Obasanjo, according to the governor, is a “quintessential leader” not only in Nigeria but throughout the world.

Sanwo-Olu made the announcement in a statement signed by Gboyega Akosile, his Chief Press Secretary.

The statement read in part,” On behalf of my family, government and the people of Lagos State, I warmly felicitate Chief Olusegun Obasanjo on his 85th birthday anniversary.

“Baba Obasanjo is worth celebrating for his contribution to the development of our dear country, especially his service to the nation as a gallant military officer, Head of State and President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

“He has made lots of positive impacts in the country as a military officer and political leader, fighting along with several other patriots for a united Nigeria during his days in the Nigerian Army.

“He has written his name in gold as the first Nigerian to serve as Head of State and later, a Civilian President. He also administered the country with a focus on improving the lives of the citizens and the country’s economy.”

In other news, President Buhari has stated that Nigerians must begin to seek outside the military and security services for long-term answers to the country’s insecurity problems. 

Buhari made his submission in a speech to the National Defence College Alumni Association’s (AANDEC) launching event on Tuesday in Abuja. According to a statement released by Femi Adesina, the President’s Special Advisor on Media and Publicity, Nigerians must become more enthusiastic in cooperating with security forces to address the country’s difficulties.
