No Public University Student Will Pay Utility Bills Next Academic Year -Education Minister Reveals. The Minister responsible for Education, Dr Matthew Opoku Prempeh widely known as NAPO says prospective students in public tertiary institutions in the next academic year will not pay for utility bills.

The Manhyia South MP announced this during his address at the third edition of the Nation Building Updates held in Accra on Tuesday with the theme “Investing in Education, Investing in the Future,”

NAPO said this forms part of the Akufo-Addo government’s effort to mitigate the financial burden on parents and students who pay utility bills on their own and also to enhance access to tertiary education in the country

Dr Matthew Opoku Prempeh further disclosed that a student would only need a Ghana Card to secure a student’s loan with no guarantor if the New Patriotic Party government is given another four-year term.
