Born to a Mexican American, mixed-race family of modest means in Houston, Texas, Rendon honed his talents over many years.

Anthony Rendon studied at the Hodges Bend Middle School and during his time there, he was involved in basketball, track, and baseball. Post that, he got enrolled at the George Bush High School and eventually transferred to Lamar High School in Houston, Texas.
