He started playing baseball at a very young age.

Born to a Mexican American, mixed-race family of modest means in Houston, Texas, Rendon honed his talents over many years.

He spent his childhood years growing up on the southwest side of Houston.

Anthony Rendon studied at the Hodges Bend Middle School and during his time there, he was involved in basketball, track, and baseball. Post that, he got enrolled at the George Bush High School and eventually transferred to Lamar High School in Houston, Texas.

Rendon grew up on the southwest side of Houston and excelled academically and in sports. He was a star basketball player, track athlete, and baseball player at Hodges Bend Middle School.
