Two persons have been reported to the Kumasi Police for claiming a non-existent allodial right over Boadi Stool Land, which partly KNUST occupies.

The two are Odeneheo Kwabena Badu and Nana Akwasi Osei Bonsu.

The Hoahi Royal Family in the Ashanti Region who reported the two say the duo are misrepresenting the family making what they describe as unfounded legal claims against the Golden Stool.

According to them, these two are claiming a non-existent allodial right over Boadi Stool lands for and on behalf of the family in the case, Abusuapanin Kwame Kunadu Yiadom vs Yaw Acheampong, lands commission and Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST).

The family says the duo are imposters holding themselves as representatives of the family illegally selling lands in the Boadi area.

“The two are fraudulently going around using the family name to make unfounded legal claims against the Golden Stool and also selling plots of land of the stool”, Spokesperson for the Boadi Hoahi Royal Family, Benjamin Afrane Amankwaah explained in a news conference.

The Hoahi Royal family has therefore distanced itself from an ongoing legal tussle against the occupant of the Golden Stool, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, over the Allodial ownership and absolute title rights of inheritance of the Boadi Stool Lands.

It has vehemently denied engaging some two persons as neither legal nor customary Attorneys or representatives of the stool or family.

“Our family is unequivocally stating to all Ghanaians and the whole world that the two aforementioned are never legal nor customary attorneys or representatives of the stool or family.

The family insisted that, “the two are fraudulently going around using the family name to make unfounded legal claims against The Golden Stool and also selling plots of land of the stool”.

“We are by this press conference sending a word of caution and disclaimer to the general public and the world that the two are engaging in an act of misrepresentation and should fall on their own swords for the consequences of all their illegal actions.

Nobody should deal with these personalities on any matter relating to the Hoahi royal family or stool of Boadi, Kumasi”.

Background

The Royal family also said the Otumfuo Osei Tutu II granted its ancestors a place to live at Boadi under the stool title ‘OHENEYERE’ and the stool was not isolated from the Ayigya, Bomso, and Gyinyase which are all under the Oheneyere stool lands.

Mr Afrane Amankwaah explained that the Royal Family has never contested the supremacy and the Allodial title ownership of all Asante Lands and for that matter Boadi Lands.

He further said the Royal Family has been in solidarity and subservient to the Golden Stool as subjects, custodians, and children of the stool lands of Boadi and Asanteman.

Mr. Afrane Amankwaah added that, “The general public is hereby advised to report such personalities to the police whenever they show up in any transaction as representatives of the Hoahi royal family of Boadi as imposters”.

The Hoahi Royal Family has therefore sent a caution and disclaimer to the public that the two persons are engaged in an act of misrepresentation.

The matter has since been reported to the police.
