Gloria Bosman died at the age of 50. However, the cause of death is yet to be made public.

In December 2022, the award-winning jazz musician was appointed to SAMRO’s board as a non-executive director.

In a statement via their (SAMRO) Instagram account, they wrote;

“SAMRO mourns the passing of legendary jazz composer, singer, and SAMRO’s Non-Executive Board member Gloria Bosman. Ms. Bosman was appointed to the Board of SAMRO at its last Annual General Meeting (AGM) in December 2022.

“In the short period that she was on the Board, she added a perspective that comprised of a rich blend of insights on member aspirations and the direction that our organization should continue to march towards.” SAMRO Chairperson, Nicholas Maweni.

She has left a lasting legacy with her brilliant catalog and significant contributions to the South African music industry.”
