A member of the Justice Select Committee was Charalambous. The All-Party Parliamentary Groups on London, Cyprus, Crossrail Two, Autism, Sex Equality, Music, Global Education For All, and London’s Planning and Built Environment were also among the organizations he participated in.

He was chosen to serve as Rebecca Long-Bailey’s Parliamentary Private Secretary (PPS) for Business, Energy, and Industrial Strategy in January 2018.

He was chosen to serve as an Opposition (Labour) Whip in December 2018. In January 2020, Charalambous was named as a Shadow Minister for Justice.

Keir Starmer joined the shadow Home Office team as the Shadow Minister for Crime Reduction and Courts after being elected Labour leader in April 2020.

In a minor job shift in May 2021, Charalambous switched places with Holly Lynch to become the Shadow Minister for Immigration.

He was removed from office as a Labor MP in June 2023 as a result of a claim “that requires investigation by the Labor Party.”
