Ghanaian Twitter influencer and music enthusiast, Joey Akan has sparked a massive debate online after a new post he shared on Twitter following what transpired between American rapper Rick Ross and Nigerian rhymer MI Abaga hit online.

Akan in his post said while Black Sherif from Ghana is topping charts in Nigeria, mainstream artistes from Nigeria are expressing dissatisfaction for being prevented from hanging out with American superstar, Rick Ross.

Akan controversially suggested:

A Ghanaian rapper is topping Nigerian charts, while Nigeria rappers are crying that Rick Ross didn’t take selfie with them.

In a previous report shared by www.Voiceofgh.com, rapper Mr Incredible (MI) Abaga took offense when his polite request to meet American rapper Rick Ross one-on-one was flatly turned down much to his shock.

Rozay is presently in Nigeria for an Easter concert tagged; ‘Rick Ross Live In Lagos’ and since his arrival, he has been having meet and greet sessions with Nigerian celebs.

MI Abaga said he was also invited to meet the famous and multiple award winning rapper but then, he requested to meet him in private. He was however denied the opportunity of meeting him and possibly build on that leverage to trigger a collaboration.

Not happy with the turn of events, he suggested how the Afrobeats practitioners have sabotaged industry. He said this cluster of artistes would not respect Hip Hop in Nigeria due to some complicated reasons.

In his words; ”Lastly .. I was invited to meet Rick Ross.. I responded by saying if I could do it one on one. Ofcourse they declined.. the afrobeats industry will not respect Hiphop just because.. that’s fine. Let’s accept it as what it is and make GREAT MUSIC FOR THE ONES who do care.

That’s how I created the wave the first time!!! Every single time I gave them music I never cheated them.. I made classic after classic and am relentless still.. the guy is my best album yet coming soon! Classic.. give your best and the music will grow!”
