According to reports, the 27-year-old man was stabbed by his girlfriend, Courtney Clenney on Sunday, April 3rd at the One Paraiso luxury building at 3131 Northeast Seventh Avenue in Edgewater.

The police reported that a physical altercation that ensued between Christian and Courtney, his 25-year-old girlfriend was what led to the untimely demise of the young man. Christian was said to have been rushed to the Jackson Memorial Hospital but was pronounced dead later.

Courtney was said to have called 911 after the incident after which she was detained and admitted to a mental institution for a mental evaluation after she threatened to end her own life after the incident.

The deceased who moved to Miami with his girlfriend was said to have what friends described as a rocky relationship with Courtney. A close friend of the suspect, Ashley Vaughn also said that she also raises her hand on the deceased anytime they have an argument.

The police further detailed that there was a struggle before Courtney stabbed Christian in the shoulder, hence further investigations are ongoing to find out if Courtney acted in self-defense.

However, Ashley Vaughn said that she strongly doubts if Christian will even try to hurt Courtney, hence there is a probability that the suspect killed him on purpose.

From what we’ve personally experienced between the both of them, we believe that Christian wouldn’t put her in a position where she would need to stab him to protect herself,” Vaughn said.

A neighbor of the couple claims to have a direct view of the couple’s apartment and claims that things were awry a week before the stabbing and that Clenney was the one being physically mistreated.

Even though we really lost Christian only, it feels like we lost Courtney at the same time. We didn’t think this is how far it would have gone,” Tahki Banks, a mutual friend said.
