Favour Bassey Otu, a Nigerian journalist and reporter, has confirmed her resignation from Silverbird TV in order to support Peter Obi, the leader of the Labour Party.

She gave an explanation for her decision, saying that it would allow her to assist Obi without being constrained by journalistic ethics.

A journalist must remain impartial and must not harbor any animus toward any political party, organization, or individual, according to the journalism code of ethics.

Favour made the announcement and revealed her future plans on her Twitter account.

Daniel Rhega wrote; Quitting ur well paying job to support Peter Obi or any other candidate, is an unwise decision; U are n¤t smart cos these politicians may be a people’s person but they d¤n’t care about u. Have u asked urself what happens if Peter Obi doesn’t win the presidential election? Think.

C had this to say: You dey whine yourself 😂. Shame, many people still thinks she did this outside the influence of politics. Who leaves a job to support a politician if he/she won’t be rewarded by the politician. The way you paint this tweet is as funny as possible.😅

Bufem had this to say: D youth are doing well by supporting peter obi , but we need not to be emotional about it. Politics is about loose or win , politician will never be at lost in d game, let be factual. Don’t resign yr job in d name of supporting a candidate,U WILL FEEL D PAIN MORE WEN DEY LOOSE
