Nigerian music executive, singer and politician, Bankole Wellington simply known as Banky W has set the records straight that he did not sign Big Brother Naija season 6 winner, Whitemoney, unto his record label.

Voiceofgh.com reported a weeks ago that there were rumors claiming Banky W had signed Whitemoney to his musical label, EME.

In a recent interview with Hot FM, Banky W mentioned it and brushed off the rumors. He was very clear that the reality star was not signed because his label was no longer in business.

He claims that since they changed their status from record label to media and marketing agency in 2017, EME no longer signs artists.

Banky W reiterated once more that he simply secured Whitemoney an ambassadorial position and did not sign him.

“We transitioned from a record label to Media & Marketing Agency.

I didn’t sign Whitemoney, we helped him with an influencer deal with one of the corporate client that we service, so he is an ambassador for a company. So, we helped him to a marketing situation. We didn’t sign him”.

Banky W has also stated that he entered politics in order to fix the broken system.

“We must engage with the system from where it is and fight for what we stand for and what we want to happen,” he said.

He continued, “We need more people to participate in politics. I have participated in peaceful protests just like anybody that I know among my peers.

“But the goal of activism and advocacy is improvement and if you haven’t seen the impact you seek, then that activism is not enough.

“So, for me, the message started changing from just raising awareness via activism and advocacy to saying we have to start moving from protests to politics.
