34 Lawyers Arrive At Court To Defend Suspected Murderers Of Deborah

Reports have said that about thirty-four lawyers arrived at the court to defend the suspected murderers of Shehu Shagari College of Education student Deborah Samuel.

A few days ago, a group of Muslim students gang up and lynched a level 200 student and set her ablaze after she allegedly said blasphemous words against their prophet Mohammed.

The police later confirmed arresting the two suspects for the killing of Deborah over alleged blasphemy. The police command in Sokoto made public the arrest of the two suspects.

Reports say about 34 lawyers storm the court to defend suspects arraigned for court over the death of the level 200 student. The lawyers were at the Sokoto Chief Magistrate’s Court on Monday, May 16, to defend the suspects identified as Bilyaminu Aliyu and Aminu Hukunci.

According to PM News, the suspects pleaded not guilty to the crime and the trial judge (name withheld for security reasons) ordered them to be remanded at a correctional center.
